Workshop on Audience Development for Culture Professionals in Liepāja

Workshop on Audience Development for Culture Professionals in Liepāja

Please join us for two days of practical workshops on attracting and developing audiences. We look forward to welcoming Kurzeme culture professionals who are involved in organising events for young audiences, attracting new audiences, and developing audience strategies on a daily basis.

Participants will learn different approaches to audience development and will elaborate their own action plan adapted to their organisation. Step by step, participants will review the current audience development practices in their organisation and jointly generate ideas on how to improve youth engagement and communication with different audience segments. These workshops will also provide a unique experience to share success stories and challenges of your organisation, as well as to learn best practices from abroad.

The workshop will take place in Liepāja on 26-27 September at the "Great Amber" concert hall and its working language will be English.

Please note that the workshop is free of charge and places are limited. You can find the programme and register on the concert hall's website - https://lielaisdzintars.lv/lv/cirque-musique/radosas-darbnicas

The workshops will be led by Greta Clough, an experienced audience development expert from Iceland and partner of the “CirqueMusique” project. She is an internationally acclaimed award-winning artist, Handbendi Puppet Theatre and Studio Artistic Director and an expert in culturally driven rural community regeneration and audience development. She is based in Hvammstangi, a small rural community in the west of Iceland, where she creates performances, organises the Hvammstangi International Puppetry Festival, runs a community-led arts programme and produces original content for film, television, and radio. Her Puppet Theatre in Handbendi has been awarded the Icelandic Eyrarrósin Award, which is presented every two years by the First Lady of Iceland to particularly outstanding rural arts initiatives.
