Strengthening the availability and processing of Open Data

Strengthening the availability and processing of Open Data

On Thursday, 20 July, from 9.00 to 12.00, the kick-off event of the OD4GROWTH project "Strengthening the availability and processing of Open Data to support local growth and urban transformation" will be held in the "Great Amber" Chamber Hall. Please join us to learn about the importance of open data and the project implementation process and its outcomes, some of which include auditing data owned by the Municipality of Liepāja, mapping the data landscape and draw the scenarios for the data repository.

Also, upon evaluating and publishing open datasets on the national open data site data.gov.lv, the project aims to organise meetings of partners to promote the use of open data for urban economic development. Activities include raising awareness about open data and its contribution to urban development.

The project will set up and carry out a survey to identify the need for open datasets among businesses, good practices that already create and use open data. The project partners will organise topic panels on the quality and quantity of open data, using it in the development of public services and in business. As one of the project activities, partners will also meet to promote their cities and share their experiences.

The project involves municipalities from nine European countries: Italy, Hungary, Poland, Spain, France, Lithuania, Greece and Latvia. Latvian partners include the University of Liepāja, Rīga Technical University, Liepāja City Construction Department, Liepāja City Municipal Public Services Authority, Liepāja City Education Department, Liepāja Public Transport Agency, Liepāja Region Tourism Information Office, Liepāja Technology Cluster and Digital Innovation Park.

The project will be implemented within the framework of the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 Interregional Cooperation Programme of the Cohesion Policy Objective "European Territorial Cooperation" until 1 March 2027.
