Opening of the new media exhibition “Automatic Creativity”

Please welcome the opening of the new media art exhibition “Automatic Creativity” this coming Thursday, on 15 February, at 18.00 in the exhibition hall of the Liepāja Music, Art and Design High School.

Organised by the Art Research Laboratory of the Liepāja University in partnership with Association “ASTE. Art, Science, Technology, Education”, this international exhibition compiles the works of artists interpreting the role of contemporary technologies and automated processes in the societies and individual’s perception, identity and sense of well-being, along with the unconscious, automatic actions that humans adopt to machine performance, thus forming a collective, creative unit. The artworks were created using joint technologies such as artificial intelligence tools, performative and interactive systems and digital production and recording devices.

Artists: Sabrina Durling-Jones (USA), Krista Dzudzilo (Latvia), Pete Gomes (UK), Gustavs Lociks (Latvia), Oleksandr Sirous (Ukraine), Taavi Suisalu (Estonia) and more than 100 young artists, participants of the UPDATE festival.

Curators: Krista Dintere, Raivo Mihailovs, Anna Priedola and Pēters Riekstiņš
