NGOs and active residents are invited to a networking afternoon

On December 1 at 15.00, the Municipality of Liepāja looks forward to gathering representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and active individuals for a networking afternoon. This social gathering aims to foster collaboration between the municipality and the non-governmental sector, enhancing support for associations and foundations.

The afternoon format will be that of an open dialogue, experience sharing, and consultations designed for assessing current collaboration opportunities, exploring avenues for support, and catalysing further development. Topics of discussion will encompass the new Law on Local Governments, Liepāja City Municipality Regulations, project calls by the municipality, the upcoming period of the NGO Growth Incubator, and various capacity-building activities for NGOs.

Joining the event from the municipality will be Salvis Roga, Vice-Chairman of the Liepāja City Council, and Elīna Tolmačova, Head of the Environment, Health, and Public Participation Department of the Liepāja City Municipality Central Administration. The meeting is scheduled from 15.00 to 18.00, with registration starting at 14.30. The venue for this networking gathering is the Exhibition Hall of Liepāja Art, Music, and Design High School, located at Alejas iela 18.

Please register for the afternoon by filling in the online application form.

The Municipality of Liepāja recognizes NGOs as vital partners in caring for and supporting the people of Liepāja across diverse sectors. The commitment to enhancing the capacity of NGOs remains steadfast, with the municipality regularly implementing capacity-building activities. The inaugural NGO Growth Incubator, concentrating on bolstering the capacity of associations and foundations to secure external funding, has successfully concluded, and two additional seminars on effective communication are scheduled for November and December.
