Until November 25th the international New Media Art Festival "UPDATE 2023: AUTOMATED CREATIVITY" is taking place in Liepāja, bringing together over 100 new media artists, art students, designers, and experts in new technologies from the USA, Germany, Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia and other countries.
The festival's focus will revolve around creative automation processes in art, bringing together artists and workshop leaders who will reflect on the highest levels of automation, including tools of artificial intelligence used in the creation of art and design, as well as maintaining a healthy routine and process efficiency in creative work. Additionally, there will be discussions about automation processes in art from a historical perspective. The workshop program is designed for on-site participants, and certain workshops and masterclasses will be available both on-site and online.
At the conclusion of the festival, the art pieces and prototypes developed will be presented to the wider public in an exhibition at Liepaja University's Faculty of Humanities and Arts gallery, where they can be viewed until December 22nd.
The exhibition's opening is on November 25th at 3:00 PM. All festival events are open to visitors free of charge.
