Liepāja is up and ready for the Sea Festival

We all, city locals, and our guests, are excited for the upcoming Sea Festival, scheduled for 8 July in the city’s Seaside Park. Great music, handicraft and home-made fair and exciting activities will fill this year’s programme to bring unforgettable moments for all visitors and create a special atmosphere by the Baltic Sea.

The Liepāja Sea Festival has become one of the most anticipated summer events, attracting tourists and locals alike and offering a rich entertainment and cultural programme for everyone. Once again, the festival is about to take place in the city's Seaside Park, covering the area from Jūrmalas to Rožu Streets, including the beach zone.

Just like before, the Sea Festival will start with horn sounds from the boats and ships paying tribute to the sailors and fishermen who perished at sea, followed by a memorial service at the monument down the Kūrmājas Prospekts avenue. Whereas the entertainment part will kick off at 12.00. The event will feature all-age music programmes, activities, and shopping at the Sea Festival Fair. Kids and families will enjoy a designated play area with a variety of activities and attractions, where young festivalgoers will have plenty of fun and educational activities.

The evening party will traditionally include a Sea Festival Concert from 19.00, featuring popular Latvian musicians singing and dancing their hearts out along with the audience. Sounds of music and positive energy will complement the coastal ambience. The Sea Festival is a major event that highlights and celebrates the maritime heritage of Liepāja and its importance as a key port hub.
