Liepāja Concert Hall welcomes kids to a circus performance and masterclasses

On Sunday, 1 October, at 11.00 and 14.00, the skilled Norwegian juggler Julian Sæther will be waiting for children and parents to join him for an attractive circus performance about a magical forest at the Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber”. Juggling, dancing, and theatre will meet all kinds of fairytale and fantasy characters. Before each performance, kids will get the chance to learn juggling tricks with the artist.

In the circus performance “Mythical, Mystical, Magical Forest”, some really amusing and scary creatures in many shapes and forms will entertain young visitors. In a playful and fun way, the spectators will have the opportunity to imagine a giant troll, cheerful fairies, a wicked goblin, and other creatures of the fairytale forest using juggling tricks with balls, glittering tenpins, silk scarves and other scenographic items. The show is designed for children aged four to seven.

An hour before each performance – at 10.00 and 13.00, children and their parents will have the opportunity to take part in a juggling masterclass with a juggler, which will include throwing and catching objects and learning various tricks. No prior knowledge is required to take part in the masterclasses.

“Juggling is a great way to exercise hand-eye coordination and build a skill, because everyone can do the simplest tasks, but you should always challenge yourself by learning new tricks. It will be an educational and fun activity that welcomes mistakes and even praises them as they are the key to mastery,” encourages Julian.

The shows and masterclasses will take place in the Great Amber’s Chamber Hall. The number of participants in the masterclasses is limited, therefore you may want to buy a ticket that includes both the show and the masterclass. Tasty drinks and colourful surprises will be served by the team of the “Gardu muti” organic lemonade brand.

Juggling has been Julian Sæther’s passion for 20 years. He was initially educated at the Trondheim School of Circus Culture, but later expanded his knowledge of juggling as a performing arts discipline by completing a bachelor’s degree in Circus and Theatre Arts at the prestigious “L'Académie Fratellini” in Paris. Having created a solo show on the mental health subject, he is performing it at various festivals throughout Europe and collaborating with musicians, dancers and other jugglers in France and Norway. The result of these partnerships is a series of performances combining juggling with other art forms.

This event is part of the contemporary art festival "Liepāja Art Forum", organised by the Great Amber Concert Hall. You are welcome to purchase tickets for the paid events at the "Biļešu paradīze" box office and online: https://www.bilesuparadize.lv/lv/custompage/3688
