Join our adult non-formal education classes in November

Personal Growth, and Improvement Unit at the Centre for Educational Development and Methodological Support of the Liepāja City Education Department is pleased to announce the registration for November adult non-formal education classes. In-person sessions will take place at Peldu iela 5, in Liepāja, whereas the masterclass will be held at Kungu iela 6, followed by webinars on the Zoom platform. On 1 November, 17:00-19:00 webinar "How to find motivation to ACT", moderated by Agnese Lejniece, Head of Personal Growth, and Improvement Unit.

Description: Exploring the EPALE platform in adult education alongside 5 inspiring success stories for motivation to take action. Speakers will share their experiences on discovering motivation to take action for learning, time management, project development and career growth. We will hear from Inga Vintere, Nora Kaņevska, Austra Sipeniece, Uģis Joksts and Anete Liepiņa.

On 8 November, 17:00-18:30 informative session "Etsy e-commerce platform", moderated by Kristiāna Gulbina, an e-commerce platform user with more than 3 years of practical experience.

Description: Learning Etsy, how to use it, sales process, successful marketing, and additional tools to develop your business on Etsy.

Target audience: people who want to start their own business on Etsy

On 14 November, 17:00 - 18:30 masterclass "Creative Writing", moderated by Sandra Vensko, writer, and author of 12 books.

Description: An opportunity to practice creative writing and write your own story or poem.  You will work with a ready-made text and create a new story using an existing script. We will guarantee a creative and informal atmosphere.

Target audience: people who want to learn creative writing

On 22 November, 17:00-18:30, creative masterclass "Candle making", led by Indra Grūdupa, candle maker.

Description: Learning about the raw materials that bring candles to light, such as waxes, wicks, and fragrances, hands-on experience crafting your very own colourful and scented candle in a little glass jar. We'll also discuss the most common mistakes made when creating candles at home, helping you master the art of candle making.

Target audience: people who want to learn how to make candles

On 23 November, 17:00 -19:15, webinar "From Idea to Entrepreneurship", moderated by Agnese Lejniece, Head of the Personal Growth, and Improvement Unit.

Description: Six inspiring narratives from people who have successfully transformed their ideas into businesses, creating a distinctive brand and becoming emerging entrepreneurs. Experiences shared by Toms Beķeris, Baiba Griezīte, Līga Agruma, Raimonds Jurģelis, Daniela Solovjova-Vlasova, and Ineta Lastovska as they present their paths to the success.

On 28 November, 17:00 - 18:30 practical session "How to recognise depression?", moderated by Baiba Pavlovska, clinical and health psychologist, legal psychologist with more than 15 years of professional experience.

Description: The session will address topics such as how to recognise depression, what are the possible causes of depression, and offer useful tips for overcoming it.

On 29 November, 17:00 - 18:30 practical class "Yoga for the Family", instructed by Evija Branta, yoga teacher at the Yoga and Health Centre "Kundal".

Description: Learning the breathing techniques, yoga routines, and relaxation methods, specifically designed for introducing children to the world of movement and mindfulness. Bringing daily yoga into the routine, both parents and children can effectively manage and navigate through challenging emotions.

On 30 November, 17:00-18:30 informative session "Arranging a Montessori environment for a child", moderated by Diāna Grundmane, preschool and Montessori school teacher.

Description: A session, focusing on arranging a room based on Montessori pedagogy, enabling children to independently explore the environment and acquire new skills.

Target audience: preschool teachers, assistant preschool teachers and certified nannies from Liepāja and South Kurzeme region
