Explore the Local Craftsmanship in Two Exhibitions in Liepāja

In a celebration of our rich cultural and historical heritage, Liepāja Folk Art and Culture Centre presents two exhibitions spotlighting the craftsmanship of local artisans, weavers, wicker workers, and jewellers. Commencing the new year of 2024, these exhibitions will unfold at two venues: the Liepāja Latvian Society House and the Liepāja Music, Art, and Design High School.

"Ornaments in the Circles of Time" - 65th Anniversary Exhibition of Folk Applied Art Studio "Kursa" will take place at the Liepāja Latvian Society House Exhibition Gallery from January 4 – 31. It will feature textiles, knitted items, amber products, and wickerwork. Masters of their craft have expertly blended patterns and colour combinations drawn from museum collections, infused with inspiration from their own creations, showcasing a modern approach to textile art. The exhibition boasts the works of 25 artists and will open on January 4 at 18:00.

"WE in Liepāja" - A Collective Display of Folk Applied Arts Studios at the Liepāja Music Art and Design High School Exhibition Hall from January 8 - February 6.
