To nurture the film industry in Liepāja and Latvia, the Liepāja City Municipality is launching a co-funding program for film productions. The Liepāja City Council recently approved a budget of €100,000 (euros) to co-finance film projects in 2024. To qualify, films must have a total budget exceeding €500,000, with the maximum co-financing amount capped at 50% of the project's total cost, but not more than €50,000 per project.
This was decided by the members of the City Council on Thursday, 21 March, when adopting the amendments to the municipal budget for 2024.
