Announcing the Liepāja Culture Projects Competition

The second Liepāja Culture Projects Competition has been announced to promote the contemporary and intellectual cultural environment in Liepāja, to provide the quality and diversity of cultural events, the development of traditional and contemporary culture, as well as to promote the participation of Liepāja residents in the cultural life of the city.

Applications can be submitted from 8 to 25 June until midnight. The electronic application form is available at www.kulturasprojektukonkurss.lv

The results will be announced on 17 July.

The total competition funding is 50 000 euros – each project will be eligible for between 1 000 euros and 4 000 euros. One applicant can submit several projects, but the total amount of support per organisation is set at a maximum of 6,000 euros.

The second Liepāja Culture Projects Competition is open to corporate bodies registered in the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia, having their registered office in the city of Liepāja other than municipal or state institutions, municipal or state limited liability companies, including public derivative bodies.

Submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury. Main evaluation criteria or competition priorities are to promote the development of modern and intellectual cultural environment in Liepāja, to offer new and innovative cultural ideas in the city, which can generate a response and become unique at the Latvian and international level, to ensure the quality and diversity of cultural events, the development of traditional and contemporary culture, as well as to facilitate the participation of local residents in the cultural life of Liepāja.

Prior to submitting your project, please carefully read the Rules and Regulations of the Culture Projects Competition, and make sure that your organisation owes no taxes to the state and has settled its contractual obligations with the municipality and its agencies, including the taxes administered by the municipality.

The implementation period for projects will run from 1 August 2023 to 29 February 2024. The Culture Projects Competition is organised by the Liepāja Culture Department.
