Results of the study “Capacity of non-governmental organisations, methodology for measuring impact and multiplier effect”

When evaluating the changes in the financial indicators of the Latvian civil society organisations over the last three years, it can be observed that the number of organisations showing financial activity has gradually decreased, according to the results of the study “Capacity of non-governmental organisations, methodology for measuring impact and multiplier effect” conducted by Civic Alliance Latvia with the support of Active Citizens Fund.

Naturally, the number of people employed in the sector has also decreased over the last three years. This is particularly noticeable during the pandemic and post pandemic years of the Covid 19 virus.

In the survey, 49% of organisations admit they lack paid staff, while 45% say they lack volunteers for core activities of the organisation.
