A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the two European Capital of Culture 2027 cities - Evora and Liepāja

From today to Friday, the Chairman of the Liepāja City Council Gunārs Ansiņš and the Head of the Liepāja 2027 Foundation Inta Šoriņa are in Portugal on an official state visit with the President of the Republic of Latvia, H.E. Mr. Egils Levits, as part of the visit will focus on the upcoming events in the European Capitals of Culture 2027 Evora and Liepāja.

Meetings are planned with senior Portuguese officials, including the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, to discuss current European challenges and closer cooperation between the two countries.

The Presidents of the two countries will also deliver speeches at the Latvia-Portugal Business Forum, with more than 40 representatives of different companies accompanying the visit.

In addition, during the visit to Evora, officials will meet with the European Capital of Culture 2027 team and the Mayors of Evora and Liepāja will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation. Follow up for more information on the signing of the Memorandum.
