A call upon the talented young people to apply for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Games

Liepāja Technology Cluster is calling on talented 12th grade school students and final year students from vocational secondary education to test their skills in artificial intelligence, computer science and mathematics at the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Games. This is the third year of the Games, and the most skilful participants will have the chance to win various trophies.

The third Artificial Intelligence (AI) Games for young people with a good knowledge of information technology and mathematics will start on 17 February. Tasks will require different approaches. The AI Games are organised by the Liepāja Technology Cluster in cooperation with AI companies and professionals. Participation in the Games is free of charge and is open to all 12th grade school students and final year students from vocational secondary education schools in Latvia.

You can register until 16 February at 15:00.

The AI Games will be held in three different disciplines – mathematics, computer science and deep learning. Participating in the Games is an opportunity to learn new skills and try your hand at developing artificial intelligence. This will help you to get to grips with the challenges of future technologies and win great trophies from the event sponsors.

Krišjānis, winner of the first AI Games, says: “At first, I thought I wouldn’t join, because I hadn’t dealt with any kind of AI technology before. The Games were very interesting because the tasks were challenging but at the same time not unrealistic. Since winning the Games, I have taken the opportunity to participate in other projects related to machine learning. And it has helped me to identify my abilities and interests.”

This is a great first step towards a career in AI development – an opportunity for students to test their knowledge in interdisciplinary tasks exploring future technology challenges and win great prizes from the event sponsors – Liepāja City Municipality, Liepāja University, “Giraffe360” and “ASYA.AI”.

All registered participants will have the opportunity to take part in an online consultation on 16 February that will help them make a better start to the Games. Participants will benefit from an insight into the challenges to be solved and will be able to find out new aspects of AI development.
